There are two different VPSs Managed and unmanaged. Huge cost per the option. How are you with root account manipulation?

Thank you. I'll take a look at what they offer. Either way, there's a 99% chance I'll switch hosting companies.I have an unmanaged VPS M on Contabo. German company, great support when required. Few minor problems when we started out, but haven’t had any issues the last two years.
I have an unmanaged VPS and Dedicated Sever with https://www.hivelocity.net/ . Support is top notch!
That is / are some darn good specs and pricing. Just wondering about longevity.I have an unmanaged VPS and Dedicated Sever with https://www.hivelocity.net/ . Support is top notch!

If you were to run https://centminmod.com like I suggested above. Your cost would only be $7.00. cPanel is way over priced these days!Right now I'm kind of like:

Absolutely. That's why I'm currently testing and learning before continuing with my projectsThe transition can be painful but worth it.
Yes, that's interesting, I've saved that as an option too. Thank youIf you were to run https://centminmod.com like I suggested above. Your cost would only be $7.00. cPanel is way over priced these days!
Yes, I like that too, it's super convenient and I'll really think about it. I have it on my shared host, a few clicks and everything is greatYep cPanel = expensive but so darn easy...
cPanel is client side. WHM = server side. Much more functionality. Also WHM = easily = mess things up.Yes, I like that too, it's super convenient and I'll really think about it. I have it on my shared host, a few clicks and everything is great![]()
If it's like WebMin.... then I'm lostAlso WHM = easily = mess things up.
Maybe all control panels give root access to VPS, but some are more complex with more options, others are more basic and with fewer options (you can't touch much). It depends on which panel you prefer - the key is convenience. With CloudPanel I think there is no direct root access except through SSH but I have no problems with it, it is easy to set up and it is free. Not sure about WebMin but WHM gives root access / changes.
The question you have to ask yourself. Do you want a panel to make it easy for you or do you actually want to learn how to achieve a command line output to your project. I would suggest setting up a test server and tinkering with that until you get the concepts of how command line works. I am a noob too but have learned a lot.Right now I'm kind of like:

So it's like WebMin

Hi guys
I’ve always managed my servers manually without panel by installing and configuring reps via command line.
As of 2023 now what do you are the best methods to deploy a quick and secure server VPS for a XF / Wordpress website for live production or testing/staging?
I came accross the @eva mod here but i don’t think this it’s compatible with debian.
