XenForo Cloud Diskspace & Backup Queries

Hello,

The XenForo Cloud Purchase Page states the following:

You may switch to a plan with greater allowances at any time. We do not offer data storage over the specified amount with our starter, standard or business packages, although the XenForo software supports external storage providers such as Amazon S3.

However, I’m told in the ticket support that S3 cannot be used with Cloud and additional storage should be purchased on top of the Starter Plan.

I’m fine hosting attachments / images on XenForo Cloud itself (instead of S3 provider like Amazon or Digital Ocean), but please clarify the following:
  1. How do I add additional storage in checkout page? I don’t see its mention anywhere on purchase site.
  2. Why does xenforo.com states that it doesn’t offer extra storage in XF Cloud plans, when in fact you do?
  3. Do you also provide the facility so that we can monitor our allocated diskspace consumption?
Regarding backups:
  1. Are there any permitted APIs or add-ons in XenForo Cloud that would allow me to create a routine off-site backup?
  2. XF says backups can be downloaded anytime. I hope it means “complete” backups including full database, attachments, and custom files or folders.
  3. How does XenForo ensure the integrity of our backups? I’m asking because we’ll have to rely only on the backups provided by you (and XF Cloud T&C mention there's no liability for loss of data).
Furthermore, I'm told that XF Cloud support is same as self hosted licenses: Monday - Friday, 0900 - 1700 (UK Time).

How do XF Cloud users manage in case of emergency situations (e.g. site down etc.) during off-hours / holidays / weekends?

Thank you

Offering additional storage is a fairly new option and is really still in a state of testing so it is not yet widely available, nor fully integrated with our checkout process.

With that in mind, additional storage is available on request and can be added after the subscription is purchased, at which point the additional storage is added and your subscription fee adjusted accordingly.

You can monitor disk space usage in the customer area.

For backups, yes, they are “complete” in that they include all uploaded files and the full database and any non-XF files (add-ons).

Backup integrity is verified during creation and routinely monitored.

While our official working times are as advertised, in reality, we have mechanisms in place to monitor systems out of hours and alert us in the event of issues arising, often addressing issues before even you or your users become aware.

But we are a small team and we cannot guarantee 24/7/365 availability.

We’ve been running the service for years now on that basis and in real terms overall uptime exceeds our 99% uptime guarantee.

Hi @Chris D,

Thank you for the prompt clarification.

Are there any permitted add-ons or APIs that allow XF Cloud users to routinely send backups to a remote server?

I asked some questions yesterday related to migration in a support ticket, which are awaiting a response.

Please check so that we may expedite the process.
