Odd new restriction on Xenforo Cloud

I first started getting these messages on Xenforo cloud about a week ago and because I work closely with Andy he helps me with some of his extensions. We work together but all of a sudden I cannot install extensions.

At first they approved after a few minutes but now it's been 3 days and I still cannot install the addons.

This restriction is new and will single handely get me to move off cloud into a self hosted environment.

I absolutely dislike this new restriction and have been doing well up until now without it. Even if Xenforo goes back to proper approval times I cannot see myself staying on cloud with this restriction in place. It interferes with my ability to manage my site, especially when Andy goes to the trouble to make an extension only for me only for this barrier to be tossed up.

Is anyone on self hosted running into similar restrictions?

That's the same thing we've had in place since the launch of XF Cloud several years ago. But your experience isn't currently typical.

Are you saying that every time you upload the add-on that it doesn't go through automatically? Or is the code of the add-on changing each time?

I have never encountered this in the time I have been on cloud, it is a recent thing and yes I am working with Andy on new or changed addons and last week they approved in minutes or up to 30 minutes.

We both had not seen this before but I have been trying for days to install the two above and it said I would get an email which never came and nor did approval.

They aren't restricted specifically. There's an automatic scan that attempts to detect problematic signatures in code. In the case of these add-ons they appear to be false positives.

It looks like one of the first ones you submitted got missed unintentionally @MapleOne. While that one was in "Pending" state, subsequent ones were not being automatically approved as expected.

Future uploads of those add-ons should now go through without restriction (for all customers).

I have been getting a lot of these false positives for a week.

Could it have something to do with the GeoIP2 addition to some of these addons?
