XenForo already ticks all the major boxes for search-relevant content. Anything your "expert" might suggest would probably be so minor it wouldn't be worth the money.

Most SEO experts are generic hacks and ripoffs anyway. Don't waste your time or money.

Go to SearchEngineJournal.com and read about SEO and learn it on your own.

The best thing you could do is get tons of people to link to your site and get really good social media activity going. If you can achieve that, you'll probably become an authority link and earn some nice G ranks.
