Image alt attributes are now possible when uploading or linking an image attachment however I noticed that most users are unaware so they don’t add them. Alt attributes are useful for people using screen readers and also may be for SEO.
This suggestion is for Admins to easily find and edit images that need a (better) alt tag, and to do that via the attachment browser in the admin control panel.
I envisage an extra column in the Attachment browser showing the alt text (or not if there isn't any). Currently if the user didn't supply an alt tag, then it uses the name of the file, often this is something useless such as img_407693.webp.

Ideally this field would be directly editable or else the image's edit field opens via an icon, so we can easily add or edit the alt tag.
Obviously it would be ideal if users always add an alt tag when attaching or linking and so were always prompted or even forced to add an alt attribute when attaching an image but that has been suggested already:

To be in compliance with the ADA, when uploading images, need to have alt tag added automatically or require it to be added when the image is uploaded.

It's great we can now add alt descriptions (along with align, easy link etc.) but most users are unaware of these when they post.
It would be great if as soon as the image is inserted, these options open so users do know know what they can do. (Ideally with explanatory text showing what the icons mean rather than just tooltip)

But most importantly, it would be good if there was an admin option that we could choose that actually forces an alt description. Obviously not every admin wants or needs this, but for many of us this is crucial for SEO hence I suggest it as an...
