If you believe that it's that significantly overpriced, I recommend you consider free forum software to fill your needs.

Having looked at the code, I can say that it is clearly written by talented and passionate programmers who deserve to be paid for their work.

I am very happy with every cent that I paid for XenForo. It's a great project with a great team behind it.
