all xf1 addons have categories. like "admin tools" "member profiles" etc. this is not case with xf2 addons making searching very difficult. why is that ?

The approach was simplified for XF2.

In many cases, XF1 add-ons were posted in the wrong category, could have fit in multiple categories, etc.

I do think that 1.x add-ons should be hidden and at least not be shown under Top resources in the top level.

so browsing 180 pages, where styles and translations co exist all together is how it was "simplified" .. ok ...

there is nothing wrong people getting paid for their addons.
however i see from all my xf1 addons, nothing is included in xf2 core. i compare xf1 and xf2 in terms of features and the changes are minor, its like xf2 was created in order for people to make more money by selling an (almost same) software and paid addons that most of them were free in xf1

the only new thing that everyone can see though is the xf2 ugliness

dont want to discredit the work of the developers but if it takes 20 years for forum developers to make "Can set himself as invisible" (per usergroup) a core feature, than there is a problem ..
