When we started building this, most users were on XF 2.2, so we focused on making it feature-complete there first. We have a couple of updates planned to complete the 2.2 branch, and then we’ll move to XF 2.3. After that, you can look forward to a 2.3-compatible release with even more ongoing development!

2.2.3 - Styling improvements

XenCustomize Testimonials 2.2.3 is here!
This update brings improved styling across all display modes, making testimonials look more polished and responsive. We’ve also enhanced the carousel widget for better alignment and consistency. A new admin option lets you choose a fallback image (either the author’s avatar or a default image) when no custom testimonial image is available.

We’ve also added some new style properties for more customization and fixed a couple of bugs to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Coming soon: In our next quick update, we’ll be adding several SEO & quality of life improvements before shifting focus to the XenForo 2.3 branch.

2.2.4 - Enhanced category customization options!

XenCustomize Testimonials 2.2.4 is here! This update brings enhanced category customization options, allowing you to define Open Graph titles, meta titles, and meta descriptions for better SEO and social media sharing.

You can also now choose from five distinct testimonial types—Testimonial, Feedback, Review, Experience, and Recommendation—for each category, offering more flexibility in how testimonials are displayed.

Additionally, a new permission has been introduced to control how long users can edit or delete their own testimonials.

Coming soon: Version 2.3.0, fully compatible with XenForo 2.3, is our next release!

Complete change log​

  • Customizing SEO and Social Sharing for Categories
    • Open Graph Title
      • Define a custom title for social media sharing. Defaults to the category title if left blank.
    • Meta Title
      • Customize the meta title for browser tabs and search engines. Defaults to the category title if not provided.
    • Meta Description
      • Specify a meta description for better search engine optimization. Uses the category description if left blank.
    • Testimonial Type
      Choose the type or style of testimonials displayed in each category. Options include:
      • Testimonial (default)
      • Feedback
      • Review
      • Experience
      • Recommendation
  • User Group Permission: Time Limit on Editing/Deleting Testimonials
    • Added a new permission: Time limit on editing/deleting own testimonials (minutes) to control how long users can modify or delete their submissions.

I was seconds before to buy it now and would have made an immediantly dispute if I figured out that it wasn't compatible as advertised!
 
@fionix, thank you for pointing that out! Version 2.3.0 is already available to download for our customers at XenCustomize.com, but it hasn't been released here yet because we're doing some final testing and improvements. The release here is expected in just a few hours.

To avoid any confusion in the meantime, we've temporarily unchecked the XenForo 2.3 compatibility tag on the resource page until the version is released here as well. We appreciate your patience and understanding! 😊

This version takes advantage of XenForo 2.3's new features, including image optimization. Testimonial images now benefit from native image optimization, improving performance and user experience. Plus, you can rebuild existing testimonial images for optimization via Tools > Rebuild caches > Optimize testimonial images.
