rating:

a classification or ranking of someone or something based on a comparative assessment of their quality, standard, or performance.
vote:
a formal indication of a choice between two or more candidates or courses of action, expressed typically through a ballot or a show of hands or by voice.
My vote (choice between two or more candidates/options [1 star, 2 star, 3 star, 4 star, 5 star]) was for a rating of 1.

Arguably tenuous.

Typically a vote doesn't require any anything beyond an indication of your choice, whereas a rating usually accompanies a review. See my argument in that thread why it's a rating and not a vote and therefore why a review is required. ;)

I get the argument, my point was more of a "they're both valid so quit nitpicking" than anything. And I understood everything about your post ;)
