Matt essentially admitting that their actions with ACF are retalation for the lawsuit:

Multiple people who are working on Wordpress Core features, or contributing have begun to abandon their work because of the continued actions of Matt, noticeably the guy who was doing a Fields API: https://github.com/sc0ttkclark/wordpress-fields-api

Matt being bitter about being called out on 'open source', fighting with the founder of Ruby/Ruby on Rails: https://ma.tt/2024/10/on-dhh/

This coke bender doesn't seem to be ending soon.

@Forsaken do you realize that you are continuing to write innuendos about Matt regarding the possibility that he uses substances that could lead to a lawsuit?

Luckily, I have a very good lawyer, and money to deal with lawsuits if it were to happen(y).

He'd also go after the people who are more outspoken about it, and not making tongue in cheek comments about his erratic behavior.

But yes of course... you will act like a superman against a millionaire... you will surely win... Especially since you are saying that he uses drugs so you are slandering him...

It wouldn't surprise me if matt is called out as a vexatious litigant with all these lawsuits against other parties.
Here in Australia this is what it is
Courts are not where you want to be

You need to read up on the actual laws.

Forsakens comments at worst would land him with a C+D letter.

Because as always you know nothing of what you are talking about: https://www.legalzoom.com/articles/differences-between-defamation-slander-and-libel

He would have to prove that a) I made the comments with malicious intent (context of this thread, it is tongue in cheek) b) he would have to prove damage. The original context of what I said is not that he is currently manic from a mental disorder, or on a drug binge, but his behavior is similar to those behaviors. The last post refers back to that because he's digging himself deeper with his behavior.

I've been sued before, and by companies/people with bigger net worths than Matt. I just finished winning a lawsuit against a company that owed my team several million 🤷‍♂️, and it ended sooner than planned so the lawyers were already expected to get paid for another 6-12 months so I'm fine with a lawsuit.

Read of another losing 6 figure job!
Quite a few agencies (especially who use WPEngine) have mentioned having similar issues come up with how public and mainstream Wordpress has gotten. Think it was in the first few topics on Reddit when TechCrunch started reporting that they mentioned issues with clients wanting to change direction or cancel contracts.

Docket number or BS.
Not posting the docket 🙃.

But it was building cloud infrastructure, and a custom CRM/business backend for a company dealing in oil, and they were late to pay for several months and stopped paying entirely from September-February. They also stopped paying for hardware around the time the lawsuit was filed, but business partner had to continue eating cost until agreements were in place.

1 Project Manager, 6 Developers (DevOps, 3 FullStack, 2 Designer), a full-time network admin for cloud infrastructure, and the cost of the hardware for about a year, as well as legal fees and damages.

No sane person that has the ability to fork WordPress would do it. WordPress's core code is pretty much trash and still holding on to PHP code from decades again before PHP was even object oriented. Why fork something that really needs a complete rewrite from the ground up?

If it were up to me, my "solution" to there being no good blog/CMS out there would be to make XenForo's core a standalone framework (basically leave it as it is, but make the forum functions a first-party addon). Similar to how Ubiquti has an OS that official "apps" gets installed onto. Make a first-party blog addon (which honestly would be super easy). Then XenForo sites could choose to install Forum app, Blog app or whatever else (or nothing at all if you just want to leverage the framework to build your own site).

XenForo's core/framework is really good... it's a shame it's boxed into calling itself a forum. If XF was also a commercial framework or commercial blog, there's a lot more potential customers than ones looking specifically for a forum.

Did I mention how craptastic the core WordPress code is? 😂

Yes, it is, I agree. From a code quality perspective.

However, for all its faults, there is still value in WordPress (and hence, would be in a fork). And that is the gigantic community and library of plugins and themes. It really is super-easy to get a site going with WP, there is a plugin for just about everything - all ready to go, waiting to be installed.
