Thanks me too! They say he may never have proper use of his Right arm too, and yes of course, he is right handed >_< poor kid, I don't know how he has lived with it all this time!

@ Kim: That's actually the right decision. It'll bother him a while for now, but in the long run, hopefully he'll be better off having waited. My best wishes are with him.

Thanks Saeed I think this is the wisest course of action too, just gets a bit frustrating, his school didn't really understand that he is not in a position to be doing sport etc.. that took a bit of arguing with them to make them see sense.

I'm amazed to hear that actually. A doctor's note or a simple glance at his X-ray should have been ample evidence for them to understand the poor lad's situation. I'm just glad that they did see some sense eventually.

I hope he's adapting and perhaps thinking of using his left arm and hand permanently for his daily activities and work.

Yeah, I think my son would be thrilled if he could straighten his arm.. it must be very uncomfortable.. and the Doctor won't let him use a sling so he has to actually carry the weight of it bent constantly.

Yeah, I think my son would be thrilled if he could straighten his arm.. it must be very uncomfortable.. and the Doctor won't let him use a sling so he has to actually carry the weight of it bent constantly.

When mine broke, they wouldn't put it in a cast, only gave me a sling. They said it would prevent it from going stiff and sticking in that position. I was instructed to take it out of the sling several times a day and do stretches on it. And it's very uncomfortable. I can compare it to a feeling when you've had your legs folded for a long period of time and you want to stretch...only you can't.
