Why is XenForo so expensive

There is a decent blog add-on by @Bob and we have been using it for more than a year.

I can confirm that @Bob has some brilliant XF addons - including articles, blogs and showcase.

Thank you, not intending to disparage any plug-in creators, but for something so integral to that site, I'd prefer that be native.
For other small items, I am fine if they come and go from the resources section.

@dilbert the article format works great for blogs, for me. I used to have separate blogs (Invision as well) but there was a lack of activity and my users would abandon them and use threads as blogs. The brilliant thing XF did recently was introduce Question and Article formats as actual threads so it's all in the forum, where the activity is.

@Bob is one of the few developers I wouldn't ever worry about abandoning things. He's pretty consistent with updating his products.

If you do have concerns, I'd talk to him directly on his site so that he can ease any concerns.

For this, it's mostly purchasing a premium membership that moves the user into a new group automatically when purchased, and moves them back, when it expires.

XenForo's system is MUCH better than the IPS system, which relies on the Commerce package to allow that.

Also too expensive for Indonesian like me. I bought it even though I had to borrow money from my brother.

the question is does it bring you the value you pay for it?
if you are having to buy multiple plug ins to get it to what others offer, where is the benefit?
i am lucky in i am being supported by others.
but if i had to pay for it out of my pocket i would question the value.

Surely this applies to lots of things though and isn't somehow specific to XenForo Probably not a lot any software or product provider can do about high inflation in one country.

it is why i use gimp instead of photoshop and libre office on my new surface book instead of microsoft office.
tired of forking over money when i can get similar for free.
a friend is having fun with nodebb for a forum only offering.
and it has federation according to him... whatever that is.

If you only need Photoshop, I think it's like $9 this way, but the regular Photoshop/Lightroom pack for $15 is pretty attractive as it comes with 1 TB storage over 100 GB. However, I've yet to reach 100 GB limit as I export RAW files to my local storage, for preservation, and keep on editing new ones.

Someone please correct me, but I'm kind of confused on why everyone is comparing the cost of Xenforo in US Dollars. Shouldnt the default pricing be in English Pounds, since this is a UK product?
