I have some static HTML in there, no javascript or other ad banner rotation, yet the template gets blocked by Adblock. I'm considering moving the code to another template so that it's not blocked. Why does the template get blocked?

Presumably due to the content which is triggering the ad blocking software.

Alright, so the template isn't blocked by default then. It's just that I have a lot of links in there, even if there isn't any javascript or ad code.

Browser ad blocking plugins are designed to catch lots of different content types, not just JS.

Simply having the word "advert" in a thread title or template can cause it to trigger.

That's why I thought it might be template-related - since the template name has "ad" in it.

Ha, so I figured it out - a CSS class name with the term "sponsor" in it was triggering it.
