XF 2.2 Why can't I merge these two posts?

Can someone help explain what can be there reason I am unable to merge these posts?

I thought if two posts (by the same user) are selected for moderation then it should be possible to merge them. But merge is not showing as an option here.

A third party add-on or style may be involved.

It's the last option in the menu.

I was merging some posts. The first few times I did it, I had no issues. Then I went to merge two more posts and the Merge option was missing from the menu. I had to deselect the 2 posts, re-select them, and then the Merge option was there. 2.1 RC2, default theme.

Yes that's what I though, except that two days ago I could merge.

Looks like that bug is back. (I'll mark as solution as it seems to be the right answer, even though it hasn't solved!)

Technically not a bug as its marked as server issue so don't think XF would/can apply a fix.

To keep it clean and avoid confusion I think it's best to move the discussion over to the original bug report thread instead of duplicating here.

No other sites on the server are reporting this.

No because in this case it definitely isn’t a server issue, I was sure it wasn’t anyway and after a lot of troubleshooting I seem to have solved it, see the original thread:

So now doesn’t seem to be the right answer in my case and I filed a new bug report as this is now resolved, see here caused by PayPal button conflict:

Cannot reproduce - Select for moderation counter does not work when Paypal donation button on page

I don't know if you would count this as a xenForo bug or Paypal issue, however many people rely on donation buttons. I have now tested this on two xenforo forums, all addons disabled and default style. I may be the cause of the original bug report here...
