Where do i place google analytics tracking code?
I seen instructions for xenforo 1 but nothing for xenforo 2

I don't much about it but it a great free tracker. You can see how many people are visitng your site. They have a features like seeing where vistors go on your site the most and what site they came from (referrals), and a variety of other features..

Are guests also bots? They don't show up in google analytics.

Guests do show up in Google Analytics.

I'm consistently seeing the number of visitors in Real Time matching those who are logged in.

Something wrong with my set up?

Doubtful, if it wasn't setup correctly you wouldn't see any results. You just might not currently be attracting new visitors/guests.

So the list of who is current may include those from the last ten minutes or something. (?)

It's called online status timeout- Setup - Options - User Options - Online Status Timeout. You can set it up to 60 minutes. The less traffic people have they usually increase it to look like they have more. A busy site will typically use something less than 30 minutes.
