When a user cancels in PayPal, does the user upgrade get removed in Xenforo? And how does it get removed?

The code handles it.

When payments stop, the member is downgraded.

How does that process happen? For example, in Stripe - as I understand it - Xenforo pings Stripe to see if there's an active subscription.

When the upgrade expires and the renewal is attempted, it fails and thus the user's upgraded usergroup membership is removed
