I'm not really sure what it is you're asking.
Your email limits will depend on your hosting/email account.

yes what i meant is
the max limit you set in your server for emails/hour.

whm cpanel does have max emails/hour setting.
so just want to know whats the average setting others sets.

Well it entirely depends on the forum, number of activer users, frequency of posts, etc.

I don't think you can base it on anyone else's settings.

cuz i was thinking

if i think of for every 5seconds one email is sent
in an hour thats 720 emails/hour.

so i was wondering if you set your server email max 720/hour

what if you send a mass email to all your 5000 members via XF mass email.
xf sends email instantly,
how will it sends out the remaining 4280 members, surely they wont get it at that same hour.

does xf really send all 5000 mass emails instantly?

Not for every reply. It's one email per watched thread per visit. For example, if a watched thread receives 5 new posts since my last visit then I will only receive one notification email.

Notification emails contain this message:

You will not receive any further emails about this thread until you have read the new messages.

Correct. If you need to throttle outgoing email then you need to use a different client to send your mass mailings. Check with your mail host to confirm any limits on outgoing emails.

Thanks Jake
I was more curious because of email provider restrictions for senders, Oh well... I just wont use mailings.
