XF 1.3 What width is the best width for changing to a fixed width site!

On a more serious note, I'm thinking of switching over to fixed width.

What widths do you fixedy's use and can I have link to your site to see how it looks

I use 992px which is the absolute limit if you want it to fit on a 1024px screen (due to browser scrollbar).

I chose 992 as it's divisible by 8 - just my OCD at play there

Before I was using 1200px. No problems.

As long as it is 'max-width: 1200px;' there is no problem. Anything that can display 1200px width or wider will just end up with some margin on each side.

but will there be a scrollbar on smaller screens ?
I guess it should not show a scrollbar, since it is responsive.... ?

No scrollbar, since you are defining a max width. It is not the same as 'width'.
