XF 1.4 What port does SMTP email default to?

If using an SMTP provider such as mandrill, what port does Xenforo use to make the connection? Mandrill asks users to use port 587, although presumably this is their incoming port?

I ask because my host has blocked everything and attempts to send email via SMTP are timing out. They have stated I have to specifically request certain ports to be opened, and I'm not sure which I need to request?

You need to enter the port in XF for SMTP, so it's whatever port your service provider requests.
