What Is You Experience With TinyMCE [XenForo's Editor]?

I really dont like TinyMCE. It feels like I am back at webwizforum in 2002.
XenForo is a modern jquery based platform and therefore should use a modern editor. CKE would be better, but Redactor would be awesome:

Redactor is based on .... Jquery.

It's ok. I'm getting mixed up.

I recalled the costs being too prohibitive but that was in the context of an add on developer creating it.

Looks great !

Not really seeing anything worthwhile here. Sure the undo function works like in any normal text editor, as opposed to TinyMCE where it will take out entire paragraphs. But the popup dialogs are even more poorly designed than tinymce and the overall interface is nothing to write home about. Every time I look at that page, I can't help but feel it's being sold on the merits of a nice piece of demo content alone.

Lists work right, carriage returns work ride, white space works right, etc... more than I can say about TinyMCE. :)

Nah, the whitespace thing is from TinyMCE.. the TinyMCE devs think stripping whitespace is a feature, not a bug and as such, they won't add an option to "disable a feature".

May be we are not talking about the same white space problems. I was talking about the 4 white spaces that were not converted into tabulations inside the database since XenForo is using TinyMCE in its HTML mode (not the BbCode plugin) and the 4 spaces must be converted into tabs before saving in the database.

Same thing for the lists, same thing for the wrapping tags (it will occurs with any html editor without some regex fix), etc, etc.
