What is wrong with this picture?

One of my members which is using Windows 7 with Chrome reports my site sometimes looks like this:



I appears to be random for him.

The SSL thing is a very specific problem. But more generally, the base href in the page source was wrong. Check your source code to make sure the base href is correct.

If the base href is correct then it might be the browser not obeying it. Either that or the request for the resource may have just failed for whatever reason. It happens.

I hit it several times on the Mac via Chrome, my Windows 8 box using Chrome and never had a problem. I wonder if that user has any specific add-ons enabled.

I was hoping this was the case but I just had a second mention it happened to them multiple times.

Ask him to try another browser for a bit and see if it does it with it also. Ask him what add-ons he/she has installed in Chrome.
