What infraction system is XF using?

Can the devs give us some insight about the XF infraction system at this time? Is it comparable with vB's one? More importantly: can infractions (both warnings and points) from a vB database be imported when admins should switch to XF?

I've no idea what the future may hold, but at this time there are only tools to manage content Members post, but not the Members themselves.
