I use as a base Argon Medium for all the things and they did indeed read it.
Just out of curiosity, what makes you think the developers read it?

@benjamincarmel In which century you think your feature list might get delivered? We have suggestions waiting since 16 years...
The most fundamental thing is missing... a decent mailing list to contact your forum users and an email bounce system...
Xenforo Cyberpunk edition?Maybe in 2077
Is it bad that I kind of like it?
Is it bad that I kind of like it?![]()
I'd be happy when Xenforo staff produce an official add on that prevents all the problems people are having with the large amount of guests they seem to be getting that are mainly bots.
I'd personally love to see this from the start through the registration right up to all the components in the forum being protected from AI scrapers.
If you're trying to deal with bot-spam via php, you've already lost the battle because those bots are already putting load on your server by having to load a php thread to deal with the request - even if it is being rejected quickly.
You need to deal with this type of traffic at the edge - or at worst, at your http server layer where the processes can handle vastly more traffic than php can.
Best is always to let someone else deal with the traffic - handle it at the edge and your server will never struggle.
So Cloudflare?
Only if you like oversimplificaton. Reality is more complex and there is an epic thread dedicated to the bot topic anyway. So Cloudflare?
Fair as a temporary solution (and in the end the most secure way against scraping to have the site login only) but it clearly will harm your visibility in search engines very badly and also new signups.I've made the site require a login for guests, but it hasn't stopped them.
There is no single "best way". There are various ways and which is best for you depends from your goals, your needs, your technical abilities/knowledge, the time you are willing to...Sorry to ask what's probably been asked a million times, but what's currently the best way to stop or discourage them?
