XF 1.5 What happens if Search Minimum Word Length is less than mysql ft_min_word_len

What happens if Search Minimum Word Length is less than mysql ft_min_word_len? I am on a shared server where ft_min_word_len is set to 4. Will there be any benefit if I set Search Minimum Word Length = 3 in the context of searching 3 character words??

It would need to be set to 3 in order to do 3 character searches.

More than likely you will not be able to get the web host to change the MySQL to do three character searches. You could use the Advanced Search add-on but it can be slow.

Yes, the hosting won't change this setting in a shared server. I'll check that solution, thanks.
