I didn't mention anything about income or cash flows which are completely out of scope to the question asked.

To be fair, if that's the case then the fact that you got a quarter mill in funding from an investor was also out of the scope and shouldn't have been mentioned. Since you mentioned that asset, we (I know I did, I assume others did as well) figured that was all the assets.

Back on the point of the thread though, business aside. What you need in a developer is someone either familiar with XenForo or at the very least familiar with Zend Framework (v1).

Well that fell flat on its face. Met with the investor rep and my solicitor pointed out a huge flaw in their funding acceptance documentation...they can buy me out at any time for the same amount of money that they invest. NO WAY, the analysis and research shows that the potential earnings from it is $500k per year per site and there are 20+ sites planned. The investment group are Chinese and it seems they are the only ones with money and willing to invest, but to end up owning my great idea, and work, after I get it all going, is just not right.

To do it properly I don't have the technical skills to do it and it would take a couple of years full time to acquire them mainly because it incorporates instant text/audio/video chat which in itself is a specific skill set plus all the other development technologies in other areas

I suppose like many other great ideas, lack of funding prevents them from ever becoming a reality

If it's that earth shattering/moving idea, contact some the current tech wiz's that have money to burn. They might be interested in it.. but you may end up owing your soul to them also (thinking of the Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg types). You never can tell - they may have some programs that invest in stuff like that.

Paul Allen loves to invest in winning ideas but his target is usually $25 million or more. He will selectively invest in smaller ventures.
