Actually they do, it's there, it's just so hard to find now. Charlie Rich got airplay on mainstream radio which made him popular with mainstream audiences. That level of exposure for talented musicians is long gone in favor of risk free, largely manufactured, flavor of the day ~~musac~~ music.

The good stuff produced by young musicians is still there but you have to dig really deep to find it unfortunately.

But yeah, a great song by Charlie Rich

Agreed. A lot of my recent musical discoveries have been through YouTube or recommendations on forums. And most of them are Indies or on contract with smaller labels. Bandcamp is supposed to be another good place to find them, but I actually don't go on there much.

But if you're looking for them on radio, good luck. With the exception of some of CBC's DJs, I find broadcast to be a bit of a rubbish heap these days. Even in the car, I usually have something streaming from my phone now.
