it seems that if you start a thread and it is subsequently merged into another, your original thread remains indefinetely in 'your watched threads', even in a fully read state (assuming you watch all threads you start).
Fixed now, though only for future merges. You can use the "all watched threads" page to manage them, and from there you should be able to remove the watched redirect.
