XF 1.4 Warning System (Temporary bans)

Is it possible to use the warning system to issue a temporary ban on a user, but one that can be issued immediately, rather than when it reaches a certain level of point?

If so, how would I set this up? If it's not possible, what is the best workaround? (This is for users without access to the Admin CP.)

You could set it so that something like 5warning points equals a ban. Then let your moderators know that if they need to ban someone just give them 5 warning points.

I've not tested it. I'm mobile at the moment.

My question is: for the warning, should the points expiry be set to "Never" or after 7 days?

If the points did not expire, after seven days, would they be banned again because they met the points threshold of 7, and so on.

Yeah I'd set the points to expire or you might end up with the member being caught in a loop

Another thing I'm going to do is set the "Warning Points" for temporary bans higher than those of any other warnings. Then, if non-ban warnings are issued, no ban will be actioned.
