VerticalScope Inc Headed toward Bankruptcy?

This. It’ll be the end of a flourishing community selling to VS.
ADVRider.com seems to be doing okay, VS bought that a few years ago now.

I get what you are saying but, it is difficult trying to find someone who:-
  • Shares the same passion as what the forum is about.
  • Has the technical ability.
  • Is able to find a very large 6 figure sum of cash.

I wouldn't be their wisest move if they were to do so.
Their version of XF is basically unable to be updated. At some point, they're gonna have to figure out what their next software play is. Leaving their big sites on the software they bought them with is a big reason they're still flourishing (the community is obviously the main reason).

They got nailed by Google's March update.
Our forum is doing just fine, even index in Gemini! Record fees from Ebay, Amazon, Adwords. Tons of new members registration.

It's from poor management, founder taking off for the Grand Cayman Islands years ago (according to his LinkedIn) etc.

They hired some guy a couple years ago Joe Pishgar with a fancy job title, he didn't last.

Glad for you. Some of us weren't so lucky.

Can tell you right now Joe wasn't the problem.

What did Google do in March @Rick?

Just a random article I found on the subject:

"We're hearing some chatter in the market, regarding certain types of sites and content that are seeing big drops and gains.

The trend seems to suggest that broader forum sites like Quora and Reddit are gaining ground, where smaller platforms like DIY forums are taking one on the chin. There is quite the feature gap between these levels of forum sites, which might indicate that Google is reading deeper into on-site user interaction (like widgets) than we thought before."

For me, nothing noticeable as seen in organic traffic report below from our oldest forum. In addition to that, started a brand-new slot car related forum back in 2023 and it dominates Google.

With that said, I also had multiple viral videos on FB Reels for the Slot car site, something that would never happen on Google Search! Definitely have to tie everything in together for it to work now for exposure for your website/forum.
