vbulletin redirects does not redirect /archive/index.php/t-X

vbulletin has archive links. i.e. old mobile friendly browsing. These have this format:
/archive/index.php/t-31493.html

The vbulletin redirection script should redirect it in the same way that showthread.php?t=31493 is redirected.
But it fails.

use htaccess to redirect archive to showthread or forumdisplay, and then let the xf tool handle the new ids.
