Sorry everyone. I'm nowhere near complete on my beta testing, but I have to take a break ... I'm getting Carpal Tunnel from all the vB5 failures I find. If my wrists feel better, I'll try to resume ... but the work seems ENDLESS.

Might have to resort to things that work.

I'll start:

vB5 features - Release Candidiate ready:
(1) nothing.

I'll try to add more later.
 
This thread has gotten old. You all should really find something else productive to do with your time. I quickly lose respect for the whole discussion when it starts to look like a junior high school bashfest. By the way "Mr. Anonymous", if you know of a security flaw, be a decent human being and report it. :rolleyes:

I think this thread needs to be locked and no more vB bashing needs to be permitted. It makes us all look like a bunch of immature amateurs.

You are not upsetting me , you are just putting Xenforo and it's owners in a risk by posting messages like that.

Additionally you are hijacking many other webmasters right to comment on this thread. Criticising a product is ok but the level you are at is honestly disgusting. And highly possible this thread will be locked soon because of messages like yours.

Couldn't agree more. The first few posts were interesting especially reading naatan, robbo, digitalpoint's post about the code quality so I subscribed to this thread. 23 pages of discussing and more and more nonsense is being posted as far as constructive criticism goes.

That's because there was a recent EU law that said that software licenses could be re-sold to new owners, that companies couldn't dis-allow that.

IB suggested that they'd allow it for EU customers, for a "transfer fee". All other countries are SOL it looks.

... all that time I wasted on my XF mods re-writing my code to not increase XF's query count from 8 to 9.

all these weeks optimizing my XF roster add-on to not add one query.

Not one additional query.

Do you know what I miss the most about vB after I switched to XF? Not one database error message. I haven't received one XF DB error message in 2 years with two licenses, with vB, one about every ten days with one license and I thought this was ok.

If XF had DB errors it would really be in trouble. DB errors are the secret to vBulletins success!

...At least you get enough of them to think that way.
