XF 1.5 Using other site API for login on Xenforo?

So, I have an API for another website, and I'd like to have it so they can log in via that website and make an account through that instead of facebook, google +, xenforo, etc. How would I go about creating this?

Log in and integration with an external software/website would require custom development in the form of an add-on.

It's not something which can be achieved with styling or template edits.
