XF 1.5 Users unable to edit threads in marketplace

Hi all,

I recently received this information from an advertiser on our website.

If they go to "thread tools" then Edit Thread they can't edit the thread. (see below image)

If a moderator or staff members goes onto a thread then we can edit the thread instead, but as you can tell this is way too long and not good for those members/ advertisers on our site who want to edit the threads themselves.


What can be done to fix this issue?

We've look at the settings and everything is perfectly fine so I don't understand what the issue is.

The Edit Thread link that is missing will only edit the Thread Title (and allow you to change the thread status if you have the required permissions). This is controlled by the "Edit thread title by self (requires edit own post):" permission (moderators can also do this with the Manage thread permission).

For a user to edit the content of their thread ie the first post that they made, they need to use the Edit link at the bottom of the (first) post. That of course is controlled by the "Edit post by self" and "Time limit on editing/deleting own posts (minutes)" permissions.
