As designed User Search Following User Merge

After merging several users and renaming them their names no longer appear when searching for users.

1. Merged User into User1.
2. Renamed User1 to User.
3. Now whenever I use @User or just search for the name User in the members section, the name does not appear in the auto complete list.

I already tried rebuilding the search index and users cache.

This might be a vBulletin 4 importer bug as many imported users that were auto merged can't be looked up either.

The auto-complete system only displays users that have been active somewhat recently (within the last 6 months I believe). This is based on what's tracked within XF; I'm not sure off hand whether we have a value to import related to this.

If you look at the user's last activity times in the control panel, you may not see one or it may be a while ago.
