User map [Deleted]

Hi, can you please add the Show me on the User Map: preference selection in the Default Registration Values list within User Registration? I want to make is to where Yes is automatically selected upon registration to where if a user wants to hide it they can do that after. The option really needs to be there where admins can make it default to Yes or Hide at registration.

That's all changing in the next release. Should be out over the weekend or so.

I'll make sure there is a ACP option to default the values.

Cool...

One last thing, I did find a strange bug or conflict. See the 2 lines that say Loading... in the image below? That is happing on the member profile page and it's a conflict with 2 other add-ons.

The add-ons are [FS] Events v1.0.1 and Bob's Article Management System v1.5.1

Each add-on is creating one of the Loading... lines after I've installed this User Map v3.6 add-on. If I disable one of the other add-ons then one of those lines goes away. If I disable both add-ons then both of the lines go away. Your add-on is probably messing up the order of events with the other 2 add-ons or it's duplicating something.

Hi,

Any updated version yet?

I did solve the conflict with the other 2 add-ons. It turned out to be because of another Profile Page add-on: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/profile-page.3495/

That add-on removed the tabs from the member profile page and with this User map add-on installed is was making the other 2 add-ons display those Loading... error lines.

Anyway, I removed that Profile Page add-on and the problem went away.

CrispinP updated User map with a new update entry:

Many enhancements

Well, most of you would have skipped from 3.6 straight to this 4.0. Yikes.

New features:
  • Filter by radius for maps. There was a first-stab at it in 3.5+ but it was found wanting. Improvements to how it works in 4.0
  • Filter radius is now click-n-drag and can be moved around the map once set.
  • Filter boundaries limited by ACP settings.
  • Suggestion by @ichpen added where you can configure ACP to only show members active since n days.
  • User Privacy...

Read the rest of this update entry...

Update works well, keep in mind I did get an error going back into ACP after uploading files so maybe advise to disable addon until xml is updated.

Other than that my next suggestion would be to expose the active for X days filter to the front end as another option.

It's good and thanks @CrispinP

I spoke to soon maybe, I put the option to only show users who've logged in the last 3 years but still showing up all the pins/members irrespective of that. Should I be doing a mass update after this or waiting on some cron?

I'll add that. It happened to me but not to most others. Still, it's worth the mention.

That could be added too.

Urm, nope, should happen as soon as you change ACP. Change it to something like 3 days. See what happens.

Changed to 1 day, absolutely no impact on the map pins after a refresh.

I want the map to Ignore Location and only use the Map Location.

I have unchecked Use standard Location field and done a mass update but it is still using the location field. How can I force the map to ignore the location field?
