User map [Deleted]

This is the second time in two days the way delete messages on resources are made has been brought up.
We’ve had the housekeeping process in place for over two years, albeit manual at first, but the end result has always been the same - the delete message being by the Resource author.
Despite the behaviour being the same for so long, people are suddenly complaining about it as if it’s something new
The delete notification post appearing to be authored by the add-on developer has caused confusion and follow-ups for quite some time. Here's a quick sample ...

3 reasons;You should like the suggestion of you support it.
- It's not in the Suggestions forum
- I neither support nor non-support the suggesstion, I don't mind the post author if the content was more appropriate and contextually informative
- I've given up on XF suggestions, there's just no point.

Since @CrispinP hasn't been on since Feb, it is safe to assume this addon is dead.
So what are people using as an alternative?
This is the only one I see, and it maps by IP only:

Could you post a link to the XFA map?
Previous posts suggest that it has a reduced feature set. Do you know how it compares?

But the member map by XFA is only for XF1. XFA have announced to develop for XF2 but I would assume that it will take longer.

Not that I suspect anyone will care at this point, but for what it is worth, MySQL breaks this add-on badly and will break your site if you update and have this running. Uninstall prior to upgrading to 8.

Anyone have a mirror for this add-on? I have orphaned database entries somewhere but I can't figure what I need to drop, or if anyone has a list of tables this thing creates that'd be great!

Creates a table crispin_usermap_config. If it's prior to version 4, it added 2 fields in xf_user_profile (cum_map_location and cum_map_location_last_update)

These don't seem to exist though I still have an option in user preferences "Show me on the User Map" no idea what version I had installed, any ideas?

This might be the solution for all those who are desperately hoping for a new membermap with the use of a separate local field instead of the Internet IP:
