XF 2.2 User details changes get reverted

I've got really strange behavior with one specific user.
When that user tries to change some of his profile details, the "changes are saved successfully" popup shows but after a refresh the changes are gone.

No error log but the user change log shows the entries being changed and reverted back to blank after that.
Oh, and the user has the appropriate permissions (edit profile set to yes).

Anyone has any idea what can cause this?

If the reverts are being logged then something is making the subsequent change.

Which add-ons are installed?
