XF 2.0 User awaiting approval ?

User waiting approval but option not selected in registration setup. I have enabled registration and email confirmation selected but not manual approval. User state says awaiting approval. What am I missing?

Agree with Tracy - there's an option to manually approve if stopforumspam count is over x. This is a good thing.

Interesting, I am testing registering accoounts and the account was flagged after registering saying it had to be approved. Tried another and it was email confirmation instead of approved TY... Didn't notice that before TY so much for the quick responses...

If you have Setup > Options > Spam Management set up like this:



Then it will flag it as spam if just the username has been reported as spam.

So, if you are using a common username like "Test" or "Admin" or something it will flag it.

You must be very spammy

You can bump up the thresholds to reduce the sensitivity:



I like to set it to 1 and manually review the reasons for it being flagged. If it's just the username and it's a common username (like a first name), I'll let it through. If it's email or IP reports, I'll usually block it.

As far as your personal email being flagged as spam, first check that it is in the StopForumSpam database by manually searching for it:

Then request that it be removed:

http://www.stopforumspam.com/removal

My email is not on the list Mine are set to default values..Reject registrations when this many warning flags are detected: set to 3

Then something seems amiss. It should have told you why it was flagged as spam in the Spam Trigger Log, e.g.:



I believe the defaults are set to more than 1 and only counting within the last x days, so you would need to have (email:x, username:y) etc in the line above to trigger it.
