XF 1.2 URL format - remove numbers?

The urls of thread on our forum look like this:

http://forum.megalytic.com/threads/how-much-does-megalytic-cost.7/

How can I remove the ".7" from the end? Is this a revision number?

To answer your last question, it'd the ID of the thread, same way that users have an individual ID and forums do.

You cannot remove the number from the thread URLs unless you manually manage each and every thread and internally redirect.

You can remove it from nodes, however.
