Uploaded image order in the attachment area?

Hi, when uploading a lot of images with random file names, the images appear in the attachment area below the post in a different order to what I uploaded them in. Is there a secret to this? What determines the order they will appear in, file name, size...

This can become a major pain trying to keep track of what images have been uploaded and what hasn't when trying to create a large complicated post containing lots of images.

Can someone explain how the uploaded images are treated by the software and what determines their order?

If you upload them individually they will be listed below the editor window in the order they are added.

If you use the Flash uploader and select a number of images, they will be listed below the editor window in alphabetical order based on the file name.
