Hi Guys

I am trying to place an order but I don't see the option to add this at check out

"Support and upgrade access can currently be extended for $40 for an additional 12 months"

Please advise

Thanks
Joe

You can actually purchase a 12 month extension at any time.

Once you have purchased your license, log into the Customer area and click "Purchase extras/extensions". The extension is added on to the end of the original expiry date, e.g. if you purchase a new license in September 2017 your license will be valid until September 2018 and if you purchase an extension straight away your license will be valid until September 2019.

If you plan on purchasing any additional add-ons, it can work out cheaper buying extensions before the add-ons, as the extension price isn't added on, but the add-ons use the same expiry date as the XenForo license when purchased. I just wish I'd thought of that before buying them in the first place...

Chris, is it recommended to use Version 2, or not yet?
and if not it is going to be easy to upgrade later on?
XF2 is still officially in a pre-release alpha status and is unsupported, so it's not ready for use on live sites, yet (well, apart from this one ;)).

At minimum we'd recommend waiting until public beta (soon) or release candidate or ideally stable.

It is going to be simple to upgrade later, yes, but due to the brand new code base, any styles and add-ons you use in XF1 will not be compatible with XF2.

This site seems to be doing ok, compared to what I need it for.
We don't expect any major activities in the first month or so.
may be it is worth taking the risk than having to upgrade later on.

Also as you said: "add-ons you use in XF1 will not be compatible with XF2"
so may be I should not waste money on purchasing theme that will not work in few week with XF2

What you do think?

Calm Joe, also note that the current XF2 alpha versions have no importer for data from other forums, and it's not sure if you can upgrade to later beta versions at all. I'd wait for the beta.
