XF 2.1 Uninstalling add-ons

I uninstalled a few add-ons that I've had disabled for a while by simply deleting their file directories.

But it just occurred to me that XF has an uninstall system that I'm assuming deletes database tables and other data? Should I reinstall these add-ons and then uninstall them in the admin CP and then delete their directories? That way the database and whatever else is cleared of them?

Solution
You won't be able to reinstall if the add-on is still installed.

Just replace the files on the server, then uninstall.

Then delete the files again.
Yes, you need to run the uninstall routine from the ACP before deleting the files from the server.

Some add-ons are poorly coded and don't undo changes made to the database, etc. If you notice that with any add-ons, you will need to contact the author for assistance with that.
