XF 2.3 Unable to upload images to profile post comments

I am using the standard framework and I can upload images elsewhere e.g. direct messages and in the forums but if uploading it to a profile post comment I get an error.

Nothing appears in the server error log.

This is the image I wanted to upload but the same error happens, it starts to upload then cancels with an oops error message and the image is removed from the message.

To follow up I can add the same image through attach file then insert it that way but the editor upload doesn’t work.
