I like this idea, I have some questions.

How does the user's password get stored? And how do they know what it is? Seems like if you register with this, you are forced to always use this.

Can I not log in by traditional means on another device (eg, using my wife's ipad where she's logged in, not my account)

The add-on does not store Google passwords. Login is handled by Google; XenForo accounts are created/linked automatically, and any local password is handled by XenForo (hashed, not plaintext).
