FAQ — Google One Tap Login (XenForo)

Q: How does the add-on know which account is mine?

A: Google provides a secure sign-in token that includes a unique Google account ID (and your verified email). The add-on links that Google ID to your XenForo user account, so future One Tap logins always sign you into the correct account.

Q: If I register with Google One Tap, am I forced to always use it?
A: No. You can still use a normal XenForo login — you may just need to set a forum password first. Accounts created via One Tap may be created without a local password (or with an auto-generated one you never see).

Q: Can I log in on another device using the traditional username/password method?
A: Yes. Once you set a password (via “Forgot password” on the login page, or Account Security while logged in), you can log in normally on any device — including shared devices.

Q: Can I disconnect Google later?
A: Yes. You can remove the connection in Connected Accounts. Make sure you’ve set a forum password first so you can still log in afterward.
