Embedded tweets don't seem to be linking properly on mobile (iOS)

As an example, I paste in this link

It embeds as this:

Accept third party cookies

That then changes the link to

https://twitter.com/statuses/980517108919554048

That link doesn't work on mobiles and gives a "page doesn't exist" error. I think it's related to how it's changing the link structure which is fine on desktop but doesn't work on mobile.twitter.com.
