XF 2.3 Twitter embeds broken on my site

Within the past week or so twitter/x embeds stopped working on my site, it just shows the link. No changes were made on the server or with our installation as far as Im aware. I was on xf 2.3.0 and just upgraded to 2.3.4 but no change.

Below is a sample call that I can see is failing, but not sure what to look at next. I tried the default style and disabling addons but no luck. Other embeds like youtube are working fine.

Just to add a bit more info, it seems to vary by tweet. For example the above tweet fails with the error mentioned. But the below tweet from the same account works fine. Multiple users are witnessing the same behavior for these 2 sample tweets so I don't think it's a random/intermittent thing.

Both work on this site so I know it's something specific to my site, just not sure what it could be

That's an example of one of the ones that's working for everyone, yeah.

In your video, where you're getting the error:3, I think that's due to the presence of the xenforo.com Referer header from clicking the link via this site. Opening the URL fresh it works fine for me every time.

Not a solution per se, but it may be better to just copypasta the tweet into the post directly while linking back to it so the tweet is fully archived regardless of what happens to the original tweet.

Did you ever solve this? I can get some Twitter post to auto embed while others will only display a link. Using the demo board on Xenforo they work just fine though. This also just started to recently happen. Were you ever able to find what was causing it?
