We'll add this in the next update, it will simply copy whatever XenForo's number of alerts is.

What happens if add-ons don't use the standard xenforo methods of generating alerts

Because the problem with chris's add-on, is that not all add-ons work. Since some developers don't use the standard xenforo alerts method

@SoeHoe turns out this only requires 5 lines of code so the update will be out in a few minutes. It has been requested multiple times.

This add-on works the same way in regards to hooking into the standard system. Most add-ons hook into this system, and we support them. Those which do not are unsupported.

No, we cannot make this. And, the web view portion is required for push alerts to work on a technical level, there is no way around this.

Icon alert count is coming out in a few minutes.
 
We just finished releasing another update which is why we're here after hours; got multiple requests for this feature and it just occurred to me why people want it, and it turned out to be unexpectedly simple to implement. We do not usually respond in minutes, not trying to mislead anyone. Will be back tomorrow morning during reg hours.
 
Well since the notifications and alerts on my mobile phone don't work.

i took out my old samsung s2 phone and i installed the app on that.

and the alerts and notifications still don't work, i waited 20 minutes so far and still waiting.. and nothing.

Does it have a google account connected and is it up to date? Pass it onto @RoldanLT to see if he can reproduce and post a ticket, and we'll see it tomorrow

As far as im aware i cant download apps unless its connected to a google account

i wonder if my user is in the right usergroup send alerts.... permissions?

I'm on the way out; just checked and I see a new push device registration for your user id 409175 timestamped 2015-11-26 03:19:47 UTC.

So it's registering for push alerts, and should be receiving them just fine, there is something going on at the device.
 
this is the second phone ive tried and both of them dont recieve alerts


it sounds very suspicious that both of them dont work.

This looks like a great add-on. In iTunes and google play, app appears under vbResults. Is it possible to have app appear by itself without vbResults listing (even for paying additional $$).
