XF 2.0 Turning off / on ads

In the Setup - advertising section, if I enable or disable a certain ad - is there a delay or anything I need to do in order to have it not show up or show?

I had ads there for awhile, then I clicked disabled and nothing happened. Not sure if I need to run a cron job or something?

Even if I disable it, I still see the ad - along with when I go to the template _ads I still see the banner code ?

I am kind of confused here

Have you customized the _ads template in a specific style (showing up red/orange in the template list)? If you do that, then it will override the "base" advertising system and changes you apply there won't be applied to the style(s) that have the customization.
