    shouldn´t the timestamp say:

I assume that posting was 45 minutes after midnight ?

No, that's not how 12-hours clocks display. It's correct.

when I am running a Forum in german-language, then I would need to skip the terms "A.M." and "P.M." from the timestamps as nobody in Germany, Austria, Switzerland understands those terms.

Moreover 12:45am (45 minutes after midnight) has to be 00:45 for german language.
Displaying 12:45 (for 45 minutes after midnight) will be wrong in german language.

Any particular reason why you went for a 12 hour clock instead of 24 hour?

    Because I prefer it?

    It's an admin option anyway.

    admin-option is perfect.

Is it possible to have a dot after the day, like:

    23. September 2010

As in german-language there is always a dot after the day-date.

    Fair enough :D

Nice to see all those admin options too.

Do the "Other" fields support the PHP date and time function?
So for example you would put something like: D M d Y H:i

Yes, that would be an other option.

Yeah, we support a subset of the PHP date() formatting values. (It doesn't use date, as that wouldn't be language independent.) Unless you want an obscure one like ISO week number, you should be fine. :)
